FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS A TRIAL CLASS?
Whilst we believe there is a martial art out there for everyone, it may not be ours! We offer free trial classes for people to come along to experience a class & what we have to offer so they can make up their mind whether to join armed with as much knowledge as possible. Any of our Beginners or Tigers classes are suitable for trials & we limit the number of people on trial at any one time. You just need to turn up in some loose-fitting sports clothes (anything you feel comfortable exercising in) & bring some water. We train in bare feet. It is helpful if you can turn up 10 minutes before the class start time so we can get introduced & have a quick chat.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A TRIAL CLASS?
You decide whether you want to join or not. If not, we try to help you find another club, which may better suit what you are looking for. If you join, you will need to become a member of the Federation (Tang Soo Do Moo Do Kwan Federation of Great Britain), which costs £30 per year & this includes your insurance too. We also give you a lightweight training uniform (‘Do Bok’) to start your journey.
WHAT'S IT LIKE IN CLASS?
We pride ourselves on the family-friendly atmosphere within the club. You will find most members very friendly & only too happy to help you settle in and to help you to learn. We try to support students to reach their full potential, but if there were something you would like help with or if we can improve something; let us know? We have separate classes for beginners & more advanced students so classes are tailored to your level.
WHAT IS A GRADUATION?
Graduations are a way for you to demonstrate that you have learnt the syllabus content for any particular period. They are not compulsory but are the way in which you gain your next belt & move along the journey towards your Black Belt & beyond. Your Instructor will be able to tell you if you have reached the required level & attended enough classes.
