New Year; new you?

I am a firm believer that the harder you work, the luckier you are - this works in the Do Jang and in life in general. Here are a couple of things that I try to remember every day of my life:

List of things you must give up to be successful

If you only think about tomorrow, you may miss the opportunities that might present themselves 'next week'. You will also find yourself in a constant state of stress as you deal with every issue & problem as it comes over the hill. Think about what result you want to achieve and, often, the method becomes apparent and the road will open up in front of you.

I often talk about this in class - dream big, think big & be big. My dad often used to joke (usually at the bar) 'if you're going to have one, have a big one'. The same can be applied to dreams. Even if you don't achieve all you want, 50% of a massive dream is still a big achievement.

You hold the key to your destiny & you are in charge of getting there. Until you realise this, you may often have victim mentality (it wasn't my fault!), blame others (it as their fault!) & will rarely, in my experience, achieve what you set out to (it was someone else's fault!). Take control, but more importantly, take responsibility. Give it your all and realise where you could have been better.

You will not please all of the people all of the time. You need people round you who will be truthful & honest with you, but do so in a way that drives & empowers you to achieving your BIG dreams. Stay clear of the naysayers & don't listen too loudly to the always critical voices.

Having this approach has helped me to achieve some brilliant things in my life & to go further than I (and many others) would have initially believed possible.

Let's all make 2022 a positive year.
